As ever, March was a busy month for Microgaming. The global developer of online gaming software released new online slots – in the form of Untamed Crowned Eagle and Loose Cannon – and launched a Girls in Heat tournament worth €100,000. Microgaming also added to its mobile casino content and engaged in a community initiative.

Untamed Crowned Eagle Slot

A new entry was unveiled for the Untamed series of online slots, which already includes previous releases like Bengal Tiger, Giant Panda, and Wolf Pack. From this point forward, Untamed Crowned Eagle is now available at all participating Microgaming casinos. The Untamed ed Eagle slot has been developed to offer 243 different ways of winning, rather than merely offering a set number of paylines.

Admittedly, Loose Cannon is more entertaining than Crowned eagle and is likely to find a larger audience. The symbols in the video slot are highly amusing when triggered by the successful alignment of them over various paylines. Additional features in the online slot include free spins and the Wild Cannon feature. Forget about Johnny Depp when you could be having fun with this new game.

€100k Girls with Guns Tournament

Since being launched in 2013, Girls with Guns – Jungle Heat has become a hit with players at Microgaming casinos. In response to the popularity, the online gaming developer hosted a March tournament with a total prize fund of €100,000. After conversion, that equates to a value of approximately £82,000. The eventual winner of the tournament claimed an enviable share worth more than £12,000.

New Mobile Slots Converted

A minor criticism of the Microgaming mobile casino strategy has been in the lack of fresh games. Rather than develop new mobile casino games, the developer has instead chosen to convert existing games to become mobile slots, casino games, and instant games. In March, the conversion of Mayan Princess and Tiger’s Eye was completed. Mayan Princess will consist of 20 paylines in its new mobile format, whereas Tiger’s Eye will have double the paylines with 40.

Triathlon Event Fosters Community Spirit

The headquarters of the developer are situated on the Isle of Man, which is positioned in the Irish Sea between the UK and Ireland. To help drive community spirit, Microgaming hosted a triathlon to raise funds to help the island’s athlete’s compete at the Commonwealth Wealth games this summer. It is impressive to see such a social initiative outside of software development.
